About this program
CalSEED provides first-money-in grants for California clean-energy entrepreneurs: $250K concept awards for ideas at TRL 2–4, and $450K prototype follow-ons for concept awardees who pass a competitive business-plan review. Funded by the CEC's EPIC program, CalSEED also provides professional development and investor exposure.

Applications are submitted through the California Energy Commission online portal. Register your organization, complete the online application form, and upload a project narrative, budget and supporting documentation before the deadline. Late or incomplete submissions are not reviewed.
