About this program

SBIR Ignite is NASA's streamlined award track for product-focused startups whose primary market is commercial rather than governmental. 2026 topics include in-space manufacturing, lunar-surface power, Earth-observation analytics and sustainable aviation. The application is deliberately lightweight compared to the standard NASA SBIR solicitation, and awards are fixed-price.

Who can apply

US small businesses, ≤500 employees, majority US-owned. Firms new to government contracting are explicitly encouraged; no prior NASA relationship required.
